Funeral Home Cremation Permit – Letter of Notification Once the death certificate and authorization form have been filed, the county in which the death occurred issues a permit allowing the crematory, or funeral home, to go ahead and cremate the deceased.  This permit is referred to as a ‘cremation permit’ or a ‘disposition permit’.
